All of the Portland blogs are cracking me up right now, because all of them are saying the same thing, and I'm about to chime in: It's so flippin' hot here!
107 degrees yesterday! This is not an air conditioned town, so it's almost like a Winter storm the way people's everyday lives are effected.
So I'm wearing as little clothes as possible, without getting too scandalous - and fashion's not on my mind too much.
BUT! But.
I did take the opportunity to finally stitch together a little star crown/headband!
I just haven't been able to stop thinking about making my own star headpiece since Anja's post about S.S. Flicker. Mine is a bit smaller, but I wanted to be able to wear it a lot and have it not be too audacious. And I was getting really jealous of the girl is this recent painting of mine - and that's too sad.
I bought some pretty vintage gold braid at the last big antique show, and the stars are appliques that I distressed a bit by hand. I think I'll probably distress it even more, since its still a little too bright. It ties in the back with some dove-grey seam binding. The childhood ballerina in me loves it so very much.
