I'm not a big Built By Wendy fan, but I saw this simple look here the other day and really loved it. Plus, I already have a dress that's similar (I like the neckline on Wendy's dress more, but mine still has its demure charms). I loved the way it was belted in black and had black shoes to match, but I decided to do it with red instead!
The backseamed stockings are so comfortable and lovely. I bought them locally at the AA store, but I'm pretty sure they're on the website. I'm not American Apparel's biggest fan either (the sleazy gets me down), but their hosiery is really nice and worth every penny.
Somehow, the photos in this post ended up looking a bit like the cover of a Criterion release. It must be all the time spent working at the video store back in Athens and perusing that aisle when things were slow. At one point I made a plan to watch every single movie that Criterion had released...until I watched a few terrible Brian Depalma movies and realized that being a Criterion completist would mean watching Armageddon. So, needless to say: plan cancelled.
