Current Outerwear Collage
This is the coat/hat/gloves/scarf combo that's keeping me toasty currently. All the neutrals play so well with my golden coat. Do other folks do this? Get into a hat/scarf/etc. rut and then cycle it out for another group of little things?
I expect I'll swap it out to another constellation of warmth-accessories soon enough, but it's been lovely for the October chills.
EDIT: Since so many of you inquired about them, I thought I should let you know that the boots are from the current Anthropologie Autumn collection. ;)
Love the outfit. But you know what I love more? Your super cute painting arrangement/wall color combo. Really quite perfect.

This outfit is lovely. Also, I do get into said ruts as well. I have one hat that I've pretty much worn out from all the wear it got last year, so now I plan to commision my sister (maker of said hat) to make me more like it in differant colors.
Also, I'm jealous that you're having a chilly October at all. Indiana hasn't gotten below 50 during the day, and even then that's in the early mornings. By afternoon it's been anywhere from 60 to 80 (it was 80 on Monday. *sigh*)
Hopefully November won't get too cold to enjoy chilly weather cloths. Hopefully.

Adorable outfit! I switch out my cold weather accessories for COLDER weather accessories as the winter progresses here in Wisconsin. You start with the really cute stuff - and then move on to the big down coat and wool everything! haha

Oh, I definitely do this. I have photos of me wandering around Europe in winter and it just looks like I never changed my outfit!

Oh tea biscuits!! I almost bought that coat but I was with thrifty Mom, and she convinced me to wait til it went on sale. Which it never did. Seeing you wear it at least gives me a bit of consolation: a stylish girl *somewhere* is enjoying it, even if it's not me.

I love to go for a bland coat with pop accessories. My current favs are wearing fingerless mustard colored mitts...a white chunky cowl...and some sassy colored tights. The way you mix it is lovely as well....you are such a strikingly beautiful woman...way to wear what makes you be the beauty you are!!

I definitely have jags of one coat and it's matching accoutrement. And I usually opt for very bright coats to counteract winter drear.
I was reading a nice article about breakfast rituals in Saveur magazine; this outerwear practice seems to serve the same comforting function.

I LOVE, LOVE that golden coat!!!! That is my current favorite color. I seem to go through fazes and have been on the mustard kick for about 7 months or so.
