The Diamond Sea
I found this pretty vintage brooch on Etsy, and I couldn't get it out of my mind. Try as a might, it was hooked into my imagination...so, at long last, I made it my own.
I wore it a few days ago with a dress I got in Portland at Seaplane, made by Prairie Underground. I love the combination of fabrics and the enormous pockets (if only I was good at skippin' stones, it would be the perfect dress for gathering them).

Wow! That is an amazing pin.

(to add to Nadia's comment) ... AND an amazing dress. *sigh* I really want to visit Seaplane someday. I only hope that my fella will have the clarity of mind to empty my pockets of all credit cards, cash, and checks before he allows me to enter (and to firmly refuse to return them).
Hey Emily, does the pocket construction on your dress seem very complex? I've been wanting to take a closer look at this type of pocket (I feel like I've been seeing it everywhere since I first noticed the style on an anthro sweater coat last august) and see if I couldn't figure out how to work it into some of my own garments.

Utterly fabulous dress! Love the red shoes too. Ever been to any of the Anna Sui shops? Great dresses there as well.

I like your new banner. It's like you wandered off without your shoes.
I'm a dork.

That pin is so pretty. Reminds me of the book I am reading "The Scar" by China Mieville. You might like it, think steampunk pirate adventure.

That brooch is just too cool. I used to have this very kitschy vintage cowboyboot brooch, but I lost it. Little vintage treasures always make you feel verrrry unique;) x
