Avian
Sorry I disappeared for a few days! I was visiting friends and then busy with updated the shop, but now I'm back for a wee post of pretty things that I'm coveting from around the interwebs...
I keep wondering when the bird trend is going to exhaust itself...but then I keep seeing beautiful, fresh twists on it like these printed canvas heels. I am exercising unusual amounts of restraint with these, which I've been going to visit almost daily on the website. I predict that said restraint will disintegrate soon.
There is also this dress, and I know it is difficult to discern from this image, but it is covered in the prettiest little illustrated birdies in teal and yellow and green (you can hop over to the zoom in function to see them!):
The only issue with this dress is that I think it would be either super frumpy or super flattering on me, and I think it's a catalog/online exclusive so I'd have to just roll the dice. It really could go either way, but if it worked, what a perfect summer dress!
These cuffs from Hollyhawk on Etsy are just so beautiful! I want the chartreuse one in my life.
She has loads of other pretty leathergoods (cuffs, wallets, etc.) too.
Happy Tuesday dears!

emily, i love love that bird dress. i saw it this weekend at the store. i was actually wearing a vintage dress with a similiar look/print feeling. the price tag was high though. . .but i immediately wanted it. .

I'm pretty sure that's a Liberty print!

I would check your local store for the dress. I was in Chicago last week and I saw the dress at the store there. I know it was the same dress because I bought the fabric from Purl a couple of months ago and so the dress caught my attention....I thought it was only available online as well, so who knows.......

It is a darling dress. If you can return it, I say give it a try.

Those shoes are quite lovely!

those are all pretty...I have a slight bird phobia, but they are still pretty.
(bird phobia due to a time when I worked at a downtown magazine store, it was spring and the door was open and a giant pigeon flew into the shop and terrorized me...I finally had to lure it out with crackers)

I used to love you, Emily, but now I'm not so sure. One of the best things about being vegan is it's rare I see $135 shoes I can fully covet let alone purchase. But those canvas heels . . .
