Sorry for being a bit phantom-ish for the last few days!
We're back from ICE, and it was really fun to meet new people and hang out a little with my pals Missy + Raul and Small Object Sarah.

Almost every last one of the update orders has been shipped, and we're totally caught up. I'm taking a little breathing time today, but also working on a cool little project and finishing up the packaging for the new Address Label packs! We're headed to the antique store for some fun...and I'll be back soon with a more legitimate post.

I hope your Thanksgiving week is off to a good start!

Sorry it's been so quiet on the blog-front this week. I've been hard at work on a top-secret wedding present (which you'll get to see, after it's been given!), getting orders ready and out the door, and yesterday, the thrilling task of extending my closet.
I have a small-to-medium sized closet, and that just won't cut the mustard for me anymore. I realized when I went to hang some clothes up yesterday that I was verging on a mini-panic-attack just trying to squeeze a cardigan in. So.
I got a free-standing clothes rack to serve as additional space. I know that lots of people really hate the way these things look, but I kinda like them. I guess it's the "shopper" in me (wink). And it really was absolutely necessary at this point (I like for everything to be hanging, so that I can see it properly...the only things that are dresser-ed are socks, undies, camisoles, and the two token pairs of pants). All my pretty sweaters and blouses are hanging up on the rack now, with the dresses, skirts, and knit tops inside.

This may well rank as world's most boring post, but I thought the picture (while grainy) was rather pretty. We're going out of town for the weekend, which I hope will be a nice break. It's always nice to be physically removed from the internet. I'll be back very soon, of course!

Thank you + Sale Announcement!

Thank you guys, so so much, for all of the suggestions/thoughtful comments/etc. about the moving + new place stuff. You are such a great help to me! Please, please, keep it coming...I need all the help I can get when it comes to finding a new place for Myself + Miette to lay our little heads.

I cannot WAIT to be on the road again...on the way to a new place to call home. That entails applications/accept-ions to graduate school (Josiah, not me) and a few other things to consider. But it's mostly about finding a homey place that feels right.

So! I had been toying with an idea for a sale for a while...and I finally decided to go for it. Next Monday + Tuesday, there will be a wee sale in The Black Apple shop!

Please  feel free to email if you have any questions, and  tell any pals that have been waiting around to order that now is the time! Remember, the sale is MONDAY + TUESDAY (there seems to be a little confusion about that).

It's even the talk of the town in the painted Hedgie community.

I'm feeling all itchy-fingered and electric and creative, which is really good, because I was feeling the opposite of those things for the last couple days. So locked-in-painting/making/sewing/baking weekend it is! I cannot wait. I hope there are happy weekends in store for everyone, and I'll talk to you soon!

The new "thank you" enclosure cards came, and I'm so pleased. I'm all over that little banner (I snagged it from an old drawing and popped it on here).

Today was a much, much better day.
I just worked at the computer and did totally boring stuff, but somehow, it was much better. We ended the evening with some 'ritas (I really love awesomely bad nicknames for things) and guacamole and such with my (our) lovely Sara and then saw my sweet friend Jenny sing. Thank you for all of the understanding-of-cranky-generally-bad-days comments yesterday. It means so much to know the heat is boiling most everyone's brains, and it's not just me.

I'm a stuff-purger...

I think anyone who really loves stuff can only stay sane if they are also a purger.
SO.
I cleaned out my jewelry box (doing some pre-fall cleaning) and I have loads of buttons, necklaces, charms etc. that I just don't need. I thought it would be fun for a jewelry designer or a lucky little girl to play with!
The first person that wants 'em, gets 'em. Just leave a comment, expressing your desire to have a little bag of bric-a-brac jewelry sent your way, and the first person to do so gets a bag-o-stuff.

The update today was a HUGE flurry of movement, so thank you so much for taking time to pop in!

I am so sorry that some folks didn't get the things they had their heart set on, but please understand that with running a shop, having a sliver of an outside-life, there is no way for me to make enough dolls, paintings, etc. every time. Everything that I make (as you might suspect) is really time-consuming, especially the sewn things (ie: dolls). 
I will be having another update soon (2-3 weeks) and am already working on new paintings, so don't despair! And I'll try to make a bigger batch of dolls next time, as everyone (happily) seems to really love them.
