Peony 11"x14"x1" Acrylic on wood
To end the week (and perfect for this exact moment in blooming-time) I'm posting my Peony portrait. I knew she should be looking downward a bit when sitting for her portrait, since those heavy-headed beauties (like my roses from the last post) so often nod elegantly, voluptuously down.
Since this blog is currently tuned to the flower channel, and they both regularly drown me in inspiration, there are two petal-tumbled corners of the internet you might like. If you're in need of some beauty and these blogs aren't on your regular-visit list, hop over to Amy at An Apple A Day, and Sarah at Saipua. Ever since Francesca got me hooked a few years back, they've been some of my favorite haunts. Both of these modern-day flower ladies live and work heaped under blooms and branches and share it all in generous bucket-fulls.
Happy weekend to you!
