Just Why Are Pretty Cupcake/Muffin Papers So Hard To Find?
I heart Fancy Flours for making this question of mine obsolete. I just got so sick of the pastel pink/yellow/green set that has been the standby of my grocery shopping since I was a teenager.
Those red/white striped ones? Mwah!
And "mwah" to Heidi, too, for tipping me off about them.

I live in the town where Fancy Flours is located. It's a sweet shop. I got some candy papers there a few years back for some Christmas candy I made. Their window displays are always fun, too. These cupcake papers are awesome!

Paper Orchid makes amazing lacy cupcake wrappers. Too expensive for everyday, but so pretty.
We had cupcakes at our wedding and I wish I had known about them.

I finally found beautiful cupcake wrappers at Michaels. What I find truly hard to find are the pretty cake top ballerinas. They used to be in the cooking isle when I was a child. Now I have to search high and low on Etsy or Ebay to get them.
Anyway, I'm loving the picture of the pretty wrappers.

Hi, I've done a post on your artwork on my blog. I'd asked permission to use images way back, but didn't get around to writing a proper post till just now, so I'm really sorry about that! It's here, if you'd like to take a look:

I'm one of those people who as a kid use to look through my Mom's Wilton cake books (circa 1978 or so) and appreciate (drool over) the fancy cakes and such. As an adult I still don't bake but admire those who do. Anyhow those filigree cupcake wrappers on that site you recommended were so inspiring I would buy those just use as wrappers around candles or for little candies (did I mention I 'm a paper freak too?)..I might even attempt to make cupcakes:)

I LOVE Fancy Flours. They have the greatest stuff for decorating cakes, but the best are their gemstones. They're gorgeous on Christmas cookies!
I just made cupcakes yesterday. I could've used some pretty liners...

Cupcakes are my favorite :) Do you bake from scratch or a box?

So cute! Coincidence... Martha's "Craft O' The Day" is making carnations out of cupcake liners. They look quite cute... if you can interpret the instructions! http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.3a0656639de62ad593598e10d373a0a0/?vgnextoid=78fbce908332f010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&vgnextfmt=default&xsc=eml_crd_2008_05_11

I ALWAYS have a problem finding these too! The only colorful ones at the grocery store are always child-themed: barbie, etc. Ick.

OMG...I only ever find the solid color ones. THOSE are cute!

Ahhh, adorable! I have some really sweet cupcake papers from Japan. Cute floral-y mini ones. Since I don't make many muffins, I use them to store beads. ;)

Wow! I love them! I've always wondered where to get some of those... I normally use a plate made for muffins baking, more like a normal plate with 12 holes in, so you won't have to buy new Cupcake papers all the time...
But although the plate is very handy, it doesn't give you the "feeling" of making muffins the way you did it when you were a little girl... So, I prefer yours, really.

I've gotten really into the minimalist, undyed ones - the brand I buy is the guilt-inducing "If You Care" (so named b/c they are also environmentally friendly). They're a good neutral base when you want the cupcake to shine!

Here, in Spain, is really hard to find!!
I never know where I have to look for them.
But these ones are sooo pretty...

michael's also has then in the baking aisle. I had no idea they had a baking aisle until a few weeks ago. they have the kid-birthday themes there, but I also found pink, lime green and yellow striped papers. nice!

Check out www.rice.dk for gorgeous retro floral ones. Lucky me a local favourite shop stocks them and I've managed to stockpile a variety of them.

Lovely! I like the pastel ones so much. They are hard to find in Denmark. I think I saw some with polka dots recently. Next time I see some, I will have you in mind.

those are incredible! i can't even find REGULAR muffin papers around here, let alone fancy ones like that. if i were still on my way to getting engaged/planning a wedding, i'd scoop those up for the cupcakes. alas, my heart is broken and i am planless for the time being.
but maybe when i get back from ireland i can make muchos cupcakes to make me happy!

I could not agree more. That's why when the cute ones show up around holidays (that can be used without the holiday at hand) I stock up then!

I stockpile when I find cute ones!

Also, your pal :) Martha Stewart makes some freaking cute printed ones she sells at Michaels. Do you guys have Michael's in the states? Hm. Online maybe...

I've often wondered the same thing myself. These ones are very sweet indeed!
