Three Boys, a Girl, a Ghost, etc...
I was finally able to photograph all of the dolls that are completely finished. So, you guys can get a look at the "boy modification" of the regular small-dollie pattern:
Cute n' Handsome, right? Those girls have been needing some company. I think the little gingham-guy on the left is my favorite...but maybe that's just 'cause I favor the raven-haired.
Also, here is a one-of-a-kind girl doll I've been working on. She is lucky (and cool) enough to have a pet ghost (who can be attached or detached to her arm by way of a little loop of felt on his backside):
She has "legs for days", as the saying goes. I'm really happy with the way she turned out...there might be more in the future, with a few minor tweaks here and there, but for now, she is the only one of her kind.
And here is a little "Hollywood Squares"-ish peek at the girl-dolls that will be in the update on Wednesday:
That's all for this doll-happy post! See you tomorrow with more goodness for the update.
xoxo

The boys are cute! I was wondering how to mod your pattern to make one for my son, who loves "babies". I'll have to try it out.
The legs on that doll are fabulous! And the ghost, what a quirky and sweet touch. Your creativity and imagination always makes me smile.

All my friends and relatives are having boy babies, and I have felt so forlorn about it--I want to make dollies for them, and I am cursing myself now for not figuring out you can make BOY dollies. Duh. Or you can give a boy baby a girl dolly. Duh. What kind of feminist am I? Thanks for nudging me out of my 1950's stupor, Miss Emily. You thought you were just making craft, but you were changing the world one doll at a time. ;-)

As a girl who has always been the freakishly tall one since kindergarten...let me just say thank you for the "legs that go on for days." They made my day full of finishing art projects for finals SO much better! :)
Posted by: HannahB :) | April 28, 2008 at 06:46 PM
They just get better and betterer! :D I love the girl with the rusty hair and the red and white spotty body. I agree, the ghost would sell all on its own!
