Pretty Blouse & A Pretty Bird

A new portrait-style painting that will be part of the update on Wednesday...

Sparrow1
She Moves Among the Sparrows    8"x10"x2"    Acrylic on Canvas

Sparrow2

The title comes from a NIck Cave song that I love.

Now I'm working into the evening, after a fun, quiet Saturday-into-Sunday hangout with my pal Jenny (the day started out with a migraine, and thankfully, got much better the longer it went on). There is going to be so much good stuff in this update, I just want to make sure I'm able to finish all that I want to by Tuesday evening!

See you soon, and thank you for all the kind and nostalgic words about the work from the last post...they made me very happy.

so pretty--I love her hair color. if I ever dye my hair, I want it this shade of red! :)

and I have to tell you: I always love what your girls wear in their paintings!

It's beautiful!

She is just lovely!

very pretty!
do we get to have a peek at the little boys you have made before they go into the shop?

I'm noticing a slight but very distinctive change in your paintings.. And I must say, you're softly and very gently perfecting your style. The softness of it all makes me admire your work even more. I do hope you'll make some printed Tshirts with those designs. I would be the first to wear it with pride!

...beautiful girl!
You do have the "best" dressed girls in your paintings.
All of their outfits are just darling...

Thanks for sharing :)

birds terrify me and still, i think this painting is so beautiful! thanks for sharing.

I've really enjoyed the work from your last two posts, it's incredible. You capture such an interesting mood in your paintings.

I particularly love this one, being somewhat a redhead and a bird lover plus an ex textile designer of many flowers..I too thought I noticed a change of your style and I love it! Maybe it's the colors and shades.
Sorry to hear about your migraine, I know how those are!

I love, love, love the shirt she is wearing. I wish i could buy that.

oh, she's wonderful! Emily, what a fantastic update the shop is going to have on Wed!

I am so SO sorry to hear about your migraine - I used to suffer these regularly, so I feel your pain. I'm so glad you were able to recover in time to salvage some of your day - what a champ! I've never beat one in a day before. I hope you're taking things easy today...

So many happy fun things! I love your new portrait. She is lovely.

I love her bright red hair x

She's beautiful! I must own the print when it comes out. I love birds and I'm a red head :) And you posted this on my birthday so maybe it's meant to be!

I hope you're feeling better! :-\
