How many times have I used Happy Friday as a post title?

This would've been the third time, it appears. I need to come up with some new title-material, clearly!

Just a little note to say just that, well, "Happy Friday", that is...and let you know that I've got a few new postcard packs a-brewin', the first one being comprised of these cuties:

It's just been added to the shoppe as we speak!
The other new pack is a new sort of sampler pack, which I'll show off in the next few days.

Josiah's amazingly lovely mum and sister came to stay with us for a few days, so in addition to packaging up orders, running errands, and scheming up new painting ideas, I  had a reason to bake cupcakes! Not that one needs a reason, at least I certainly don't...but a reason is nice...

My secret ingredient in the magnolia buttercream that I alwaysalways use, is that I include about a teaspoon of cinnamon. It's just barely noticable and it takes a little bit of the super-sweet edge off.

So good.

hey are those postcards edged in gold??

that's such a nice photo of the cupcake :)

Nice muffins, I'm aweful at baking - although that doesn't stop me from trying. Can't wait to see your postcard sampler pack.

I love occasions for cupcakes! Where did you get a pastry tip from & do you use a fabric bag with it?

What a deliciously thoughtful idea, to have fresh, yummy cupcakes waiting for your guests upon their arrival! I don't know about you, but for me, buttercream frosting brings back sweet memories of childhood birthdays. My two boys have been out of school for just over a week now, and I am going to make it my goal to make or bake treats with them at least once a week over the summer. Today was our first attempt; we had a big box of cornflakes to use up (which we bought for a crunchy chicken recipe we made earlier in the week), so we made something called "Crispy Chocolate Cakes" from one of their kids' cookbooks. Perhaps next week we will duplicate your cupcake recipe, complete with the magnolia buttercream and teaspoon of cinnamon. Thanks for the tip, by the way! I can't wait to try it out. ;-)

clearly cupcakes are the true vitamin C.

My absolute favorite design of yours yet in postcard form? I know something that's going on my wishlist. :)

Those cupcakes look very yummy! I should try making some up, it's been forever... I usually stick to cookies and brownies, but cupcakes are quite delish!

mmmm...cupcakes. The peanut & I whipped up a box batch last night (weren't quite as pretty as yours) but sadly we ate them all :( & by ALL I mean myself & a 5 yr old devoured every last one! I may have grown out of my clothes overnight!

That latest photo of you is the best! We seldom get to see you looking right at the camera...plus, your skin is flawless. The cupcakes look so good. I always appreciate the links you provide...Magnolia Buttercream is going to be my next frosting...

Your cupcakes look great! May I ask what kind of piping nozzle did you use? I'm trying to find out which one gives that kind of effect!

I just discovered your blog and I can only liken it to biting into one of a Magnolia Bakery cupcake... sweet, adorable, a little "stolen from grandma." Basically comfort food for the mind.

Cheers!

cute cute cute new pic! (gosh, you have the cutest nose!) And darling postcards and cupcakes, too! I don't make a lot of cupcakes, what with various food sensitivities, but you sure do have a way of tempting a girl to the kitchen...

Those cupcakes look delicious. I love the new postcards too, what a treat.

Those cupcakes look delicious. Glad you had fun with the family.

I enjoy both of your blogs (especially Some Girls Wander). This is unrelated to cupcakes (though they are wonderful) but I wanted to say thanks to your list of favourite writers (plus a recommendation from a friend), I'm now enjoying reading my first Aimee Bender book, Willful Creatures. I'm also a novelist and my book, How the Blessed Live, tells a contemporary Alice in Wonderland-like story you and some of your readers might appreciate. You'll find more info on my blog, susannnahmsmith.blogspot.com
Thanks!

They are just wonderful!!! And those cupcakes! Yummmmmmm. xxo

The new cards look awesome. So do those cupcakes - great secret ingredient! How about tossing one in an envelope and sending it my way? Hee hee. :)

I am new to your blog and wanted to say hello and that I love your art!

Also those cupcakes look lovely and delicious!

lovely postcards- i've been wanting that print and now i may have to get some postcards as well. your work is just amazing!

my beau's mum is also coming next week- i think i may have to try out your cupcakes (she's a domestic goddess, but i think they'll do the trick)!

have a super day!

I love the new adorable picture of you! The postcard pack is so tempting.

I just love those cards. It is such a wonderful picture.
I will definitely be trying out the sprinkle of cinnamon next time i make cupcakes. I love sweets but buttercream is just sugar overload for me. :0)

i hope more postcards arrive soon - i must indulge at some point!

and now that you have mentioned cinnamon, im a gonner....:)

Love the idea to add cinnamon. Magnolia buttercream icing is my favorite. I'll be doing this to my next batch. Gives me a good reason to use my brand new Martha Stewart cupcake carrier!
