Dollbaby
I wore this perfect doll-dress (courtesy of Forever 21) a few days ago. I was reading Jane recently (it's my guilty-pleasure-dumb-girl-magazine) and they featured a few F21 items, and said "Has anyone noticed how amazing Forever 21 has been lately?"
You bet I have, buster.
This dress is comfy and so cute and perfect. Its only flaw is that it is short, and I am tall, so that presents problems that can easily be solved by opaque tights. I searched it out on their webshop, and it looks like (unsurprisingly) it's all gone.
They add new things every day (seriously, everyday) and I buy lots of things from them...it gives me great pleasure to see the perfect harmony between the half of my wardrobe that is furnished by Anthropologie and the half that cost a fraction as much and is predominately Forever 21. They also do some really great knock-offs of Anthropologie or Anthro-ish designs...I take evil delight in that.
PS: You can take your own evil delight (or, schadenfreude, if you will) in the state of wreckage that my studio was in up until the taking of the above photos. Just after snapping them, I jumped off of that chair, and set to work. And now it is nice and swept and cleany-clean. And I'm still debating a paint job in there and a bit of an overhaul to simplify.
Will keep you posted.
xoxo

Great, I was blissfully ignorant that Forever 21 had a website until now, you little minx!
I always feel a little ironic shopping at F21 since I'm 35 years old, but I can't resist those dainty little frocks at such bargain prices. Like Anthropologie but without the guilt!
I used to have the best 1960's Wednesday Addams black minidress with a white chiffon detailed yoke and buttons down the front, a lot like that dress you are wearing. Loved it... I wore it until it fell apart a few years ago.
You are tres chic as always! xo

At 32, I am still a regular F21 devotee. The one here in Pasadena is enormous and full of anthro-style goodies. The only thing that makes me feel old about shopping there is my dislike of the REALLY LOUD and TERRIBLE music they blast throughout the store. But yet - I still go. Those $14 shirts are too good to miss out on!

I, too, am a F21 addict. I have secret shopping sprees there. Whenever anyone says, Oh that is so cute! Where did you get that from? I say, My favorite store of course!
I have two amazingly cute coats from there.
And you look adorable in that dress!

I love the collar on that dress! I'm tall also, so I say show off the long gams.
I can't take pleasure in the mess you had, because cleaning my studio has been on my to-do (ta-duh?) list for the past month. I swear, next week, it's clean city for me!

I have that same dress!! I've been waiting for the right day to wear it. I freak out every time I go into F21. I can't leave that store without at least 3-4 things.
I bought some super cute ivory opaque tights that have little black dots on them from H&M to wear with the dress! :)

One thing I've noticed about you is how generous you are in passing along your finds...I bet you are a great friend. Some people won't give out so much as a recipe. So tiring! Anyway, I love the links you provide--I wouldn't find half on my own--definitely hadn't heard of Forever 21. What cute things! Those little black dresses with white collars are a favorite of mine--am always on the lookout but they are hard to come by.

I don't know whether to thank you or hate you for posting that link for forever 21. Those dresses are BEAUTIFUL and I'm the poorest I've been all year.
The dress looks great ;)

I immediately thought "what a wonderful and fabulous creative mess she has going on there!" And I too have just discovered F21 since moving to CA. Love those naughty prices!

I LOVE forever21. I am currently wearing a yoke-collared dress covered in pears. I'd wear it every day if I could.

Love the dress!! I always forget about F21,becauase I don't do much mall action (save Prescriptives runs). Thanks to your link I gotta run out and check the "Mary dress" and the "Embroidery dress",dang ,both costing under 40 bux!
I'm wondering what your thinking on paint? the red seems so right!

i love an accurate representation of studio work space! this is about what mine looks like on a daily basis...i try to pretend like i'm super neat and organized, but truth be told, i am usually tip toe-ing over piles of fabric and jars of ribbon and boxes of patterns...and...and...and
loverly dress, by the way!...maybe add a pretty little slip to extend the length.
ttfn:)

we don't have F21 in germany...we have F18...kinda bizarre and a tad skanky. if i didn't have 3 kiddos and a hubby, i'd wear it tho..it's fun.

The studio may look messy, but at least it's full of cute stuff! hahaha, the color scheme is très..."on" :P

Is F21 too young for over 40? My closet is stuffed with anthropologie delights, (little addiction that I have), but it is hurting my pocket book and I need to save for retirement.

But, but but... I was just going to say how lovely, lovely the red walls are!
Cutie, cute dress and I'm glad that you're cleany, clean and still determined to be a good housewife. It makes you happy... this from someone who just bought herself a doz pink roses... they were just my favorite pink and they smell... heavenly!

I love F-21. have you seen their new store Heritage 1981? it is like the best non-cheesey stuff from F-21, with men's apparel included. I saw your black babydoll dress there.
F-21 is amazing a knocking off anthro and other places like anna sui. they have copied some of her prints exactly! It is amazing how quick they are though, we will see things at F-21 and at the anthro store at the same time!
by the way, I knew you would understand about my slouchy socks! They are from the anthro store. . i didn't even know about stockingirl! i love love tights!

Cuter than the whole thing is you. Cute and wonderful and lovely you. When I was your age,a few years agooo, I discovered Forever 21. You could find a hidden treasure then. But over the years they have gotten more and more fab.

Your dress is super cute. Jane is one of my guilty pleasures too, I laughed because the same thing had caught my eye when I read it. I had been looking at all the new Forever21 dresses and trying to decide which one to buy.

Very cute dress!! I love F21 right now, they have amazing dresses! The only problem is the baby doll dresses go to my knees lol (I am a mere 4'10"). Which isn't neccessarly a bad thing.
...I can see your felting wool in the picture. :) ....you busy little crafty diva.
XOXO

Hi that's a pretty cute dress, you can lengthen it by adding a layer of lace trim, i think that it'll be pretty on you!
your animals are soooo adorable by the way! how do you always have such great ideas?
