So making my living room into a tiny scrap of forest did end up being last night's project!
I know my trees are much different and more spindly than the Mary Blair-ish ones I linked yesterday, but that's how I like my trees. Nice and spindly.
Here's another image that is more just-the-trees:
I really love how my paper lantern looks so much like the moon over the trees! That was purely happy coincidence. You also get to see my funny, candy-striped couch there. There were 3 couches at the thrift store the week I moved in. This was the only one that fit my aesthetic (in a kind of silly way) and was in good shape, comfy, and clean.
Today I am working on the studio, and listening to a hilariously varied smattering of NPR podcasts, including one on Bigfoot, one from the wonderful Christopher Guest (chatting about his new film, "For your Consideration", which I for some reason keep calling "Thank you for your consideration") and a little show/interview with The Knitters from last year. The ol' workroom is starting to really shape up, and feel like a place I want to be in all the time, rather than just a place to work at my computer while staring around at the intimidating, tomato-ish walls. Maybe in a few days I'll feel like it's ready to show off?
In Etsy news, it's officially launched, but is (as I both feared and predicted) littered with bugs and glitches, and at this point in time, I'm not even able to view the site. Hmmm... I really appreciate all that the Etsy guys do, really. I really do. But I also question their timing in launching a completely new version of the site in mid-November, when everyone needs to be a-buyin' things.
