Greta, My Favorite
She lives here, and I think she's my favorite doll. No, I know she is (so far, anyway). Note the cool woodgrain skirt, Lisa (I think of you every time I use that fabric!). It's hard to photograph properly, though.
Good grief, so many things are being conjured up in the little test-kitchen of my apartment-studio! This was one of the most productive weekends, (as far as the shop is concerned) to date...and I'm extremely happy with everything that was created. Especially this darn doll!Do you see the tiny book she's holding! Now I'm all crazy about maybe making a run of miniature, felt-bound "print portfolios" of 10-15 black apple paintings... good? I think so.
Lots of small things, tiny things (even if the little books don't happen!) are coming to the shop soon.
I'll let that be the only hint...that they're small in size, but big on darling. Let's see, what else is coming to the shop? I've been ordering (and re-ordering) lots of things lately...Oh yes! A re-stock of postcards is coming, and I think I'll order a batch of a new design, too. AND, and... Christmas/Holiday cards will be happening sometime in early November, hopefully. I'm so excited about that. Damn excited :) I've just gotta whip up an image that is lovely and elf-ish and wintery enough.
Speaking of wintery enough...I've officially switched over (in my brain & my cd player) to some of my favorite fall records. Just like Blair changed up the quilts to ready the house for autumn, I change up the music. My number one album that only-sounds-its-best when-it's-chilly is Vauxhall and I. What are your favorite fall records (if indeed, you are wierd like me)?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Happy Monday!

It's Spring here, but when it turns to Autumn I like to pull out Tori Amos's From the Choirgirl Hotel and Polyserena by George ( Katie's voice is wonderful , www.george.net.au ), and look out the window at the beautiful falling leaves. Greta is gorgeous, love her tights!

Love the doll and her clothes...I would wear that shirt! Morrisey is a long-time fave, although for me the Smiths have no season...have you heard the new Kasabian album? It's fabulous!

Nick Drake is lovely on a grey and blustery day. Interpol only sounds right to me when the whole world is covered in icy sparkles. Arcade Fire is good always, but especially so in autumn! Also, New Buffalo.

I love Morrisey...and a little Smiths too! I had the huge urge yesterday to put on classical music while creating and maybe a little George Winston, Joni Mitchell, and the soundtrack to The Last Kiss.
Miss Greta is lovely isn't she?

Oh, Morrisey! I just went to a consert with him here in small Karlstad, Sweden. For some reason, when he had done his large gigs in Stockholm and Gothernburg and when he was done with scandinavia, he decided to do TWO small gigs here, right where I live. The world is crazy sometimes. But Morrisey is great.

oh my, that darling greta is quite... well... darling.
Kind of like you and your music.
I switched out for my fall attire... but perhaps too soon, because today, it is a might too warm in Georgia for the lightweight jackets I long to wear...
But soon I'll be wearing this : http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l246/coriealison/yellowcoat.jpg
And all will be jealous. (my code skills are lacking in linkmaking. Which will cause no jealousy, what-so-ever.)
PS: I love the pillows with the woodgrain ever so much as well!

Her hair and tights are wonderful. I can see how she might be your favorite. Actually everything about her is fantastic.

Oh, behold the new banner! I love it Emily. And Greta is delightful. I have a little 5 year old friend named Greta who is as cute as that doll, I have a fondness for Gretas- all good people! And, definitely, Morrisey always makes my seasonal changing up complete. Although I found myself tearing through our stacks of CD's looking for a little XTC yesterday.

Oh, she's just the sweetest little thing. Look at her sitting there, all sassy, with her polka-dotted legs crossed. Just who exactly do you think you are, missy? And lots of tiny things coming to the shop? I mean really... what ISN'T more fun in miniature form? /squee
Love your seasonal assignments to albums... I do that too! So many for autumn, the loveliest and most evocative time of year. First on my fall list would have been "Bona Drag" or "Viva Hate;" I'm so down with your groove thing when it comes to Morrisey as the days shorten and the nights cool. Other stuff I spin? Joni Mitchell's "Blue", Jeff Buckley's "Grace, "Crazy Happy" or "Fly Me Back" by Brenda Weiler, Billie Holiday's "Songs for Distingue Lovers," and The Cure's "Disintegration," minus the pop-ier few tunes. Yes, it's later, radio-played-Cure, /cringe, but "Plainsong" and "Same Deep Water as You"? Perfect.
